The Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley (MAC) is Sequim's cultural history and art museum. Rotating local history exhibits, including the Manis Mastodon and ongoing local art exhibits, are on display in the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. The MAC Exhibit Center also houses the Museum Store, which features unique gift items for sale, and is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Phone: 360-683-8110.

The MAC Archive, Photo Archives, and Whatton Resource Room for Historical and Genealogical Research are located at the DeWitt Administration Center, 544 N. Sequim Ave. Open Tueday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or by appointment by calling 360-681-2257.

Free Artist Demos: Saturdays, Feb. 11 & 18 PDF Print

Join us for two free arts-related demos on back-to-back Saturdays in February at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. in Sequim!

 * Saturday, Feb. 11 @ 12 - 4 p.m.

Meet Centennial poster artist Cindy Mangutz as she displays her work in progress and demonstrates her painting style! Mangutz's painting of historical Sequim landmarks will be the basis for the official Sequim Centennial celebration poster.

* Saturday, Feb. 18 @ 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Learn about the intricate handcrafted art of tatting at this demo with artists Fumie Gage, Carol Hoyt and Lynda Rathmann.

 
MAC Seeks Exhibit Center Docents PDF Print

The MAC is seeking friendly and self-motivated individuals to join our volunteer team of MAC Exhibit Center docents!

Volunteer docents welcome visitors, provide information about art and history exhibits and upcoming events and programs, and operate the Museum Store located within the MAC Exhibit Center.

Some retail experience and knowledge of local history is a plus, but is not required. Docent training, including cash register operation, is provided.

The MAC Exhibit Center is the informational hub of MAC exhibits, events and programs. It is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

March 2 & 3: Elegant Flea @ Sequim Prairie Grange PDF Print

Vendor forms are now available for the annual Elegant Flea Antique & Collectibles Sale, held Friday & Saturday, March 2 & 3 at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Rd. in Sequim.

CLICK HERE to download a vendor form. The cost is $75 to rent a 3-by-8-foot table for both days. Vendor forms must be postmarked by Friday, Feb. 3.

In keeping with the spirit of the event, vendors are asked to sell only antique and vintage items, or items made from vintage materials. Reproductions, merchandise newer than 1965, and craft items will not be permitted in the vendor sale.

The Elegant Flea features vendors from across Western Washington and beyond, and is an annual fundraiser for the MAC. Admission to the event is free with donations accepted.
